Program note:
  The starting point for this piece was to make a piece of live concert music that has the radiophonic-like forces that a popular animated movie might have ie: Orchestra + Big band + voice.
    Creating melody is at the core of my musicianship and urge to create. This piece makes a special focus of melody, jazz and groove music within a symphonic context.
    “Tunes to Live with” presents the musical equivalent of a tapestry or large painting of a whole community musics with many individuals, stories, relationships, buildings, foods, beloveds and city-scapes.
In the tittle am wanting to emphasise music as something essential that we are and exist with everyday as opposed to being in a gallery for special occasions.
    Each of the worded songs makes a subject of  experiential nature of music and human relationships
Personal and intimate one on one relationships.

    Program note:
    If I was a string orchestra, I would play this.
        the emotional stimulation from looking at an organic landscape
        the close sensuality of examining your own/ someone else's skin at close proximity or under a microscope.
        the light and expansiveness of a countryside setting.
    the intimacy of human touch and closeness and smell.
        This is the most “classical-music” piece I have written up to this point in the way it is written for the orchestra. It can be played with or without a conductor. For large or small string orchestra. In a  rythmical-groove or romantic-rubato-like style.
        Cut from the cloth of mainstream orchestral string music, with ear tentacles channeling a broad community of radiophonic influences, and a focus on cutting new and specific emotional experiences into the music.
        It is part of a new triadic focused strand of my writing I have being growing in the last year that often includes large scale spiralling “Escher-staircase-like” chord sequences that are set up to plug into the subconscious and facilitate maximum emotive freedom, playfulness and the truest tunes.
